WHO & WHAT INSPIRED ME TO BECOME A BLOGGER

This blog post is meant to inspire you to start doing what ever it is that you always dream about, have a burning passion for, and ultimately, to start finding your edge.

Enjoy! Xx

I Started My Own Bralette and Jewelry Business?

When I think back to why I started blogging, it definitely did not come as an instant goal of mine. I dabbled in many things throughout school, with one thing remaining constant, which was my love of fashion. I started my own custom-made bralette and later evolved- jewelry business with one of my best friends, teaching myself how to sew and everything! Soon to realize I had way more fun creating the brand through instagram rather than sewing the bras. Although, my dream still didn’t immediately click after that experience. I then started working in retail (Shout-out to my Pink girls!), where I thought it would be a goal of mine to work up in the industry and use my business skills to work in head office one day, while also being able to be around fashion. I got promoted to a few supervisor positions and was very successful on the store-level, I even got to help out with the store’s social media! But, STILL I was left feeling like a part of me was missing.

One of the photos I posted in collaboration with Toronto brand, Peace Collective. I can't believe how far I've come in terms of my photography skills- omg I don't think I would post this now lol! But, everyone needs to start somewhere!

My First Brand Collaboration:
I always played around with social media, where my friends always told me, “you have such a nice instagram theme!”. But I didn’t really think of this as a business at all and just kind of rolled those comments off. I got my first brand collaboration with a Toronto company called, Peace Collective, where they sent me products for me to post and I was apart of their brand ambassador program. This is what introduced me to the idea of collaborating with brands through my blog and really opened up my eyes to the idea of being a social media influencer, so exciting!

Literally one of the only photos we have together...which needs to change! Shot at Wayhome Festival 2016. Guess what, we were even named best-dressed!

The Person Who Inspired Me the Most (other than myself of course):
My boyfriend, a musician, played a huge part in pushing me to take risks and settling for nothing other than what makes me happy in every decision I make. He went on to get a record deal with Universal Music Canada, living his dream each and every minute of the day with his band mates (their single will be out this February, wooo!). They were experiencing opportunities that you could only dream about and I couldn’t be more proud and inspired by him at what he has accomplished! But, I also couldn’t help but question why I wasn’t doing everything in my power to do the same and live out MY dream.

This was almost exactly a year ago from today! One of my first outfit shots, and let me tell you, I have spent some time in front of this white brick wall! When I look at the next picture, I can't believe the progress of my photos.

“Whatever you have that burning passion for…”:

After many conversations with my boyfriend and some friends of mine, I took risks and let go of things I always thought I was obligated to do. I will never forget him saying, “whatever you have that burning passion for is all that matters in life”. So, I quit my part-time retail job about a month ago, I stopped worrying so much about what other people thought, and just did what made me happy, which was blogging and making fashion and social media my everyday life! Thinking of a 9-5-office job made me depressed just even thinking about it. Nothing is stopping you from making your life how you want it. If you are passionate, success will come! It’s an unstoppable equation.

What it Means to, “Define Style Through Finding Your Edge”:
I started to reflect on these new lifestyle choices I was making, where I realized I found the EDGE to myself I had been looking for. This edge is something I now establish in what I wear, my overall motivation for getting what I want in life, even my instagram theme.
Through my blog I want you to feel inspired by the edge I was able to find (and still evolving on), and hopefully motivate you to find your edge as well. And look, I am only 21! You are never too young or old to find your edge.  Why would you wait a minute longer to find out what you already know you love and have an edge for? It can start TODAY.

HOW TO STYLE WITH RAINY WEATHER

Hey lovelies!

Today was a very dark & rainy day in the City of Toronto, but I didn’t want to let that stop me! I still wanted to dress up and feel good even though the rain can make us feel otherwise. So, why not style with the weather, rather than fighting against it?

1. Colour
I did decided to wear dark greys and black throughout my outfit (as per usual #popofblack), but, I did want to add some colour as well! One colour I always feel fits the mood of a dark and stormy day is burgundy. So, I paired my new bucket bag that was gifted to me from Hi Eleven, which added the perfect colour that I was looking for to fit the mood of the day! It will be linked below for you guys to check out.

2. Shape
I always get the desire to throw on something oversized when it is rainy outside-makes me feel more cozy I guess! So, I threw on my boyfriend’s distressed jean coat (from Zara) which added the big boxy shape I was going for. To contrast with this and add a more feminine touch, I layered a velvet bodysuit underneath with high-wasted skinny jeans.

3. Hair & Beauty
I don’t know about you guys, but my hair + rain does not work well together. I end up with a super frizzy mess when I walk anywhere! So, I tied my hair up in a high pony tail and it was able to stay looking decent all afternoon! I also added a nice dark lip to fit the mood as well (this is my favourite winter lipgloss which I will have linked below).

Hope you guys enjoy! X

ACCESSORIZING WITH ZAFUL

Hey lovelies! X

I was very excited to collaborate with the online shop, Zaful, as they have so many awesome pieces that fit my every day street style looks but also have a bit of an edge! All of the items that they sent me total to around $80 all together, so if you guys want to check out any of the pieces, they are all super affordable!

I find it extremely tough to feel stylish in Canadian winters because we are forced to hide our outfits under big coats. This is why I decided to pick out some really cool accessories, which I find help me feel a lot more trendy, because they can be shown off despite having to wear a coat! I always try to pair a cool pair of boots, a trendy bag and another accessory to my winter outfits, in this case a big buckled belt!

I have linked all of the items below for you guys! Unfortunately the Metal Ring Saddle Bag (displayed in the last couple photos) is no longer on their site, but I have linked a similar style!

Hope you guys enjoy! X

BLACK X CAMEL

Hey Lovelies!

So, I have recently been obsessed with the colour, Camel, and if you haven’t yet noticed, I have been making a theme out of it on my Instagram! I love how it contrasts with the #popofblack with the rest of my outfit. It’s also a great neutral colour to have in your wardrobe all year ’round!

The focal point to this outfit is definitely the Faux Suede Camel Moto Jacket from Forever 21, which is online for only $30 right now!

I paired it with some black ripped jeans from Topshop, some new shiny black Boots from Zara, and of course my baby, my new Prisma Biker Alexander Wang bag- to add the right amount of edginess I need in a neutral outfit! Click the photos below to shop

Enjoy! X
